Just wanted to let everyone know that I'll be on a mini hiatus from now until the 13th, as I'll be away on vacation and will have limited acess. If you contact me in any form, you'll likely get no reply until I get back.

Have a lovely week, everyone :)

Friends Cut

As I've never done a friends-cut, this is somewhat overdue, especially since I've had this journal for a couple years now and fandoms have changed (correction: I've gone from It's cool to have a variety of interests to PARKS PARKS PARKS PARKS PARKS!) Getting cut could have anything to do with not having fandoms in common to a lack of posting, and yes, it's quite possible that I originally friended you and didn't make the proper effort to keep the friendship alive, and if that is your case, I'm really, really sorry.

If you can see this post, you have not been cut. For the rest of you, I am truly sorry it didn't work out, and if you feel like you were accidentally cut or want to try and make things work, please comment.

On an unrelated notes, I've started that Leslie/Ben multi-chapter fic I was talking about, which you can find here.

in the shadow of your heart.
doctor who. amy/eleven. pg. 551 words.

when amy pond is seven years old, she’s visited by a strange man who opens her eyes to a world she hardly believes. it’s the beginning of the end.
a/n: so, aside from this, i've never written any doctor who fic, so try and go easy on me. i think it's a bit too pretentious, but that might just be me. inspired by the florence and the machine song "cosmic love".
i don’t own anything.

Title: Man Your Guns, Save the Parks Lady
Author: quick_ly
Fandom: Parks and Recreation
Pairing: Leslie/Ben
Rating: PG-13
Summary: There are few people Ben would trust his life with more then Leslie Knope, but the whole end of the world theme is starting to freak him out a little
Disclaimer: I do not own Parks and Rec.
A/N: Written for Hiatus Fest 2011 over at leslie_ben</lj> for the bonus challenge, Apocafic! Really, Parks and Rec plus zombies always equals fun times, so how exactly was I supposed to resist?

according to Leslie, seventy-five percent of intercity invasions are due to zombie attacksCollapse )

Alright, so here it is. A large collection of fic from various fandoms, most of which are the product of this prompt request, and the rest just being random fic I found on my computer that will never be finished. Small warning, some of these are really old, and thus might not be very relevant in their fandom anymore; sorry, but it just seemed like if there was ever a time to post these, it's now.

Title: The 12 Steps of Learning How to Care
Author: quick_ly
Fandom: Parks and Recreation
Pairing: Leslie/Ben
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 2,013
Summary: The first time Ben knows Leslie is going to be a problem, he hasn’t met her.
Disclaimer: Nope, Parks and Rec is sadly not mine.
A/N: This was written for the lovely zombie_boogie, who prompted corn maze for a Leslie/Ben fic. Well, I tried to write her ficlet, but it was seriously one of the crappiest pieces of writing to ever be, which was wrong not only because she’s awesome and deserves to have quality fic written for her, but also because I actually had some good ideas when first seeing the prompt. Anyway, after reading this fic by cereal (which is without a doubt my favorite Leslie/Ben fic) I got my first shot of inspiration in forever, and ended up whipping this out in a couple hours. Big thanks to fairytiger, who read this over and got it back to me quickly :)

Alright, I promise one day soon I'll make a post that has nothing to do with Doctor Who or Parks and Rec. That day, however, is not today. Truthfully, I kind of want to picspam Amy/Eleven for the entire season (or maybe just a bunch of Matt/Karen interviews, because oh my god, those too are so completely in love amazing!) but this scene is one of my favorites and I really wated to focus on it. I just love their looks and dialogue and the part where he pulls her close and it looks like he might be about to kiss her (I know he's not, but a girl can dream.) Basically, this scene rocked and had to be picspamed, and while I won't say it's my favorite Amy/Eleven moment (I rarely pick favorites - it always feels like the kiss of death), this is certainly in the top five.

Amy Pond, the girl who waited, all night in your garden. Was it worth it?Collapse )

Well, that was fast. In little over five days, I've turned into a Doctor Who crazy person! What can I say, it's just that awesome. I mean, there's time travel and aliens and all other sorts of super-crazy-amazing things (they chilled out with Van Gogh, for goodness sake!) And with every new fandom comes a new ship (because I'm just a romantic like that.) Amy and Rory are okay, but the chemistry between Matt Smith and Karen Gillan is undeniable, and let's be honest here, the whole Amy/Eleven ship is pretty damn fun. I mean, Amy wanted him to be her booty call, and his subconscious totally ships them, and she wanted to make out with him at her own damn wedding! How can you not fall in love with that?! Anyway, I could probably go on for hours talking about why I ship Amy/Eleven (and why I ship them over Amy/Rory), but that'll take forever, so I'll just get onto the mix. This has a little bit of everything, or a little bit of everything they are to me. There are a few silly love songs (sort of what I want them to be), a couple songs about love gone wrong or reasons why they might not work, one or two that I just thought sort of fit them, and than "Moon River" which, in my mind, is kind of the perfect Amy/Eleven song. Fanmix title is taken from a Blondie song, if anyone feels inclined to know.

amy pond, the girl who waited; you've waited long enough.Collapse )

Okay, it should be noted that this is kind of a practice mix, because I've never really gotten the hang of this whole 'fanmix' thing - except, well, now I think I have. As a result, the cover art really sucks and the songs are recycled from an earlier mix, only that was before I got the hang of it, so it didn't really count.
